Every detail, from radiant faces to delicate petals, contributes to a sense of serenity and joy, inviting the viewer to immerse themselves in this idyllic scene.
Jean Ubaghs: a master of poetic realism
Jean Ubaghs, active in the 19th century, is recognized for his ability to capture the essence of everyday life through a lens of beauty and poetry. Influenced by the artistic movements of his time, notably realism and impressionism, he developed a unique style that blends technical precision with emotional sensitivity. Ubaghs often explored themes related to nature and youth, seeking to immortalize fleeting moments of happiness. His work, though less known than that of some of his contemporaries, demonstrates a deep understanding of light and color, making him an important figure in the history of Belgian art.
