Saint Julien, King of Harness Racing: An Invitation to Emotion
The scene opens on the momentum and tension of a race, where each stride becomes a story. In the art print of Saint Julien, King of Harness Racing, the composition focuses the gaze on the horse and its jockey, framed by a background that suggests speed and dust kicked up. The brown-ochre and gray tones blend with brighter touches to capture the light on the muscles and harnesses, while the precise brushwork reveals a mastery of equine anatomy. This sound and visual atmosphere transforms the Saint Julien, King of Harness Racing painting into a living snapshot: you can almost feel the horse's breath and the heartbeat of the competition.
Edwin Forbes, Master of 19th Century Realism

Renowned for his field sketches and lively compositions, Forbes captured both the gestures of men and the movements of animals, placing his works within a lineage of artists concerned with truth and emotion. His practice, oriented towards pictorial narration, gives the art print of Saint Julien, King of Harness Racing an authenticity that appeals to collectors and art enthusiasts.
