Vintage feminist protest poster "Wages for Housework"

This vintage poster titled "Wages for Housework" is an iconic piece of committed wall decor, illustrating a strong demand for recognition of women's domestic labor. The poster features a stylized female figure, inspired by the Statue of Liberty, holding banknotes in the air, symbolizing the call for wages for all unpaid household chores. At her feet, several children and domestic objects such as plates, a pot, and cups emphasize the often invisible responsibilities of family life. The text in blue characters clearly states: "The women of the world are serving notice! We want wages for every dirty toilet, every indecent assault, every painful childbirth, every cup of coffee and every smile. And if we don't get what we want we will simply refuse to work any longer!" This direct declaration expresses a feminist demand for the valorization and remuneration of domestic and invisible work. The graphic style, minimalist and contrasting, combines red and blue on a light background, offering a striking and impactful visual presentation. This poster is an ideal wall decoration for a contemporary interior or a activist space, adding a touch of political and social engagement. It is perfectly suited as a poster or painting in a living room, office, or exhibition space, drawing attention to the important theme of gender equality and recognition of domestic work. This product appeals to engaged art enthusiasts, those wishing to enrich their wall decor with a powerful message, and collectors of historical posters. Its simple yet striking design makes this vintage poster a unique decorative element that provokes thought and encourages reflection on women's rights and their often overlooked role in society. It is a perfect choice to give meaning to your walls while beautifying your living space with a bold graphic work.
