Thirteen specimens on a botanical plate
This reproduction brings together thirteen numbered peppers and chillies on a cream background. Red, yellow, orange and almost black fruits have very different silhouettes: small rounded forms, long tapered chillies and large ribbed peppers. A large red specimen with a green stalk anchors the centre. Highlights and folds in its skin add depth to this carefully ordered display.
The horticultural world of Album Benary
The visible inscriptions identify Album Benary, plate XVII and the Ernst Benary firm in Erfurt. Founded in 1843, this seed business belongs to the history of German horticulture. The album presents vegetable varieties: numbering, isolated specimens and precise outlines invite comparison of their shapes and colours.
Botanical decor for the kitchen
Warm colours bring a lively touch to a kitchen, dining room or breakfast nook. The pale background gives the motifs room to breathe and pairs well with wood and natural materials. Combine this plate with beets or cabbages from the same collection, using matching frames for a vegetable-garden display.
