Wassily Kandinsky, master of abstract art
Wassily Kandinsky, a central figure of modern art and pioneer of abstraction, revolutionized painting in the early 20th century by seeking to translate music through signs and color. A founding member of the Blue Rider (Der Blaue Reiter) movement, he drew inspiration from Russian traditions, theosophy, and contemporary research on synesthesia to create lyrical and conceptual works. Among his iconic pieces are Composition VII and Yellow-Red-Blue; this art print of Impression IV: Gendarme follows this tradition where color becomes language. Kandinsky's art emphasizes formal freedom and emotional charge, making each canvas an autonomous universe.
