One hand rests on the upright beam while the other appears lower down near the diagonal.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch2\u003eA composition shaped by light\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe illuminated face, beard and hands emerge from deep shadow. The diagonals of the cross run across the image and enclose the figure within the dark space.
